The right test for older diesel engines
Covered diesel engines from 2012 and earlier generally require both a smoke opacity test and a visual inspection of emissions equipment. Use the engine model year, not simply the truck model year. Vehicles with off-road engines used on public roads can have different requirements.

Older diesel engines generally require both smoke opacity testing and a visual inspection. Older alternative-fuel engines generally require a visual inspection only. Harbor craft, cargo-handling equipment and other specialty machinery can involve different program requirements; contact us rather than assuming this Clean Truck Check service applies.
