Can I test before the due date?

For a routine compliance deadline, CARB allows a passing emissions test within the 90 days before that deadline. A Notice to Submit to Testing or another enforcement notice has separate instructions and must not be treated as a routine reminder.

Our recommendation is to leave time for an unexpected readiness issue or repair rather than plan your first attempt for the last day. Share any notice with the team before selecting an appointment.
